Cockapoo is a mixed breed of Poodle and Cocker Spaniel. They are in existence since the 1950s and are one of the oldest “mixed breeds”.
A lot of Celebrities like Lady Gaga have adopted a Cockapoo because of their cute teddy bear looks. Also known as a Cockapoodle or Cockapoo, dogs of this breed have a broader head (than the poodle) and are not truly hypoallergenic.
Cockapoos are usually friendly, energetic, fun-loving and sociable. They like to play outdoor games as well and are socialized easily if you invest some time and energy. They often shed less as well.

Both the breeds vary greatly on the parameter of size. Have a look at different sizes of both the breeds:-
Goldendoodles are mainly in three sizes: Miniature, Small standard and Large standard
When a Toy Poodle is bred with a Golden Retriever, we get a Miniature Goldendoodle. Average Height and Weight of miniature Goldendoodle vary from 13 to 20 inches and 15 to 32 Pounds.
Average Height and Weight of Small standard Goldendoodle vary from 17 to 21 inches and 35 to 50 Pounds.
Average Height and Weight of Large standard Goldendoodle vary from 21 to 24 inches and 50 to 85 Pounds.
Cockapoo comes in four sizes: Teacup, Toy, Mini and Maxi
For a broad idea, Cockapoo ranges from 6 pounds to 30 pounds and around 10-15 inches depending upon their size and age.
A Teacup Cockapoo weighs less or around 6 pounds.
A Toy Cockapoo will weigh in the range of 7 to 12 pounds and a Mini Cockapoo will weigh around 13 to 18 pounds in weight.
A Maxi Cockapoo weighs more than 19 pounds and can go up to 30-35 pounds.

Though the general health of a dog depends on the surroundings they stay in, their age and their parents care, there are some breeds which are prone to certain health problems.
Goldendoodles are prone to health problems like hip dysplasia, elbow dysplasia, ear infections and patellar luxation (Knee joint slides out of the place).
Cockapoo is prone to health problems like eye cataracts, patellar luxation, hip dysplasia, liver disease and eye infections.
As you already know the health complications that may take place in these breeds, you shall be taking proper care on these infections. Prevention is better than cure.
Goldendoodle vs Cockapoo on Care and Training
Goldendoodle is comparatively easier to train and take lesser time. They respond pretty quickly to positive reinforcement training as they are an intelligent breed.
They have an average energy level and require walking and exercise of about 20 to 40 minutes (depends on their age and size) every day to prevent them from getting bored. Doodles are more of a family dog and they grow larger in size with the time, so it’s better to adopt a Goldendoodle if you have a backyard or a larger house with enough space.
Since they are so attached to the family they usually stay along with, they develop behavioural problems like Separation Anxiety.
Most Cockapoos have moderate energy levels and require a good walk of around 15-20 minutes a day to prevent boredom. They shall also be trained with basic obedience commands.

Goldendoodle vs Cockapoo on Life Expectancy
Both the breeds have kind of similar life expectancy. Cockapoos may have a better life expectancy of around 12-15 years as compared to Goldendoodle’s 10-13 years.

As I mentioned above, Goldendoodles are taller and leaner, while Cockapoos are shorter and cuter. Both breeds have various sizes and adulthood phases with Goldendoodle having 3 and Cockapoo having 4 phases of life.

Goldendoodles are mostly hypoallergenic. They shed a little so it’s important to brush their hair once a week to clean their furry coats.
Cockapoo is less hypoallergenic. Cockapoo does not shed at all while doodles shed a little. Their teeth can cause problems for you so you shall brush their teeth twice a week. Also, they are prone to ear infections.

Goldendoodle vs Cockapoo on their Diet
Goldendoodle is of comparatively larger size, so they eat more than Cockapoo. According to the age and size of your dog, Goldendoodles have a diet of 1-4 cups of dry food twice a day. (Sometimes thrice)
Cockapoo should be fed twice a day with 1/4th to 3/th cup of dry food.
